NC State showed up to the Azalea Sprint Triathlon in Wilmington NC last Saturday with 10 student athletes. This was a first triathlon for two of our members, and one of several hundred for our faculty adviser. Azalea was our first race of 2014, and a great venue to start off the year. Last season we finished 3rd for men and women in the Mid-Atlantic conference, and we are hoping to show up to Nationals with the same kind of speed we brought to the races last semester.
After caravaning from Raleigh to Wilmington on Friday, we spent the night at a teammates home. We woke to a beautiful morning and began the race time trial style. State brought their A game to battle it outwith athletes from Duke, Liberty, Chapel Hill, UNC Wilmington, UNC Charlotte, and others. Hannah Field got second in her Age Group, and Michael Lindler got 3rd in his Age Group. Congratulations to everyone on their performance. The rest of the results are on the results page, and pictures are in the photo gallery!
