Season Breaker

The Tri-Crew voyaged to the east at this fine conclusion to spring break (for some of us). The tale begins in a small town in Sampson County where folks of all backgrounds come to show off their multi-sport skillz. Early in the chilly morning, Colleen McCarthy and Dwayne Dixon took off in the FS Series Sampson County Super Sprint. Colleen was the fastest woman competitor, and Dwayne received a close second overall. The entire group shipped off to Wilmington to take on the SetUp Azalea Sprint Triathlon. After some beach time, nighttime excursions, and sleep, we were off to UNCW for day two of the Azalea race. Bryan Deitz, Jonas Gilbert, Kory Gray, Michael Habersetzer, Michael Lindler, and Zack Capets were the chosen competitors. The course was flat and the air brisk, so the champions conquered the city. The team got several remarkable standings and some well deserved relaxation on the beach. Then it’s back to the University where we must be students by day and hard-core athletes 24/7. Awesome job to Bryan and Colleen on their first race, and thanks to Jeff for cheering and taking photos.
